Genealogy 1. International Huchel meeting - Back to the roots tour 2005
Dorothea Elisabeth, Friedrich Gottfried and Johann Christian Huchel emigrated in late 19th century over Bremerhafen to America. This based on the information from the Huchels in the USA today. They informed us, that their residence was G a r d e l e g e n. However the dates of birth are not located in the birth register of the churches in Gardelegen. (for the years 1840-1863) The further investigations were difficult, because in 2. World War the original books in Gardelegen were destroyed. Therefore my father Dietrich Huchel visited the villages around Gardelegen and found the names in Letzlingen. In the church book it is written, that Dorothea Elisabeth, Friedrich Gottfried and Johann Christian Huchel were born in Klüden. The church of Klüden is located in Roxförde, 3 km far away from Klüden.
The idea of a meeting with the American Huchel was born.
For the 6th May 2005 we, Sandra (Huchel) Mc Gregor and
Uwe Huchel, have organized the first International Huchel
meeting in Zichtau near to Gardelegen.
